Do you have a die cutting machine?

Do you have one of those awesome die cutting machines?  Are you sick of bent plates?  Me too!!  If so check out this video.  It's a little long but it's worth a look

Key tips:
-You need to start with new plates, the old bent ones will not work!
-If it flexes flip it (the cutting plate)!  Yup that's it!

Still trying to finish organizing my stash of stamps and dies and embossing folders Should have started with just one, but I kept running out of storage envelopes etc. So, I would move onto something else until I ordered more.  Anyway, now I have a really big mess to tackle, and it seems a bit overwhelming.  I am doing a really good job of putting the Mess in Messy Krafter! :)

Another Class in the Works. This time a Copic Card Class.

So, here is another sneak peek at some fun I have been having with Lawn Fawn.  A Copic card class is in the works for this one!  Love playing with Copics and tiny designs!

Organizing or shall I say Re-organizing.

These past few days has been fairly productive in the cleanup department.  I seem to have a lot of stamps and because I have so many I have catalogued them all.  Well shall I say catalogued most of them.  I have been purchasing and not cataloguing for the last little while, so I have quite the backlog.

I haven't been putting my new stuff away as I am not really happy with the method of storage.  (Not to mention it was pretty much full.)

I started with Scrap-o-nizers... remember these?

I found some nice Avery Elle envelopes at Scrap and Bean and they fit perfectly in these bins I found at the Dollarama.

The biggy and my favorite tool for organizing my craft supplies is the Krafts app on iOS.  You can find it here.  Every crafter needs this!  I love how you can customize your categories and the fields you can store.

I have setup Categories for some of my items, still working on it!  Then when you click on a category you get the List of items in that category, you can search by name or there is even a barcode scanner to check to see if you have an item already.

If you select an item you can choose what fields you want to enter.  My list is quite long but it tells me the information I need to know about the items, such as how much I paid and how many stamp sets in a set.  I also know where to find it in my storage system and if the stamp has a die with it.   My other categories do not have quite as extensive lists.

My 'area' has gotten even messier than usual with all this re-organizing.  If you look closely you will see yet another Copic Class that I am working on!

Looking forward to being all sorted out again!

New Password Management Book

I love the 49 & Market Academia line so much that I wanted to use it for something fun.  I decided that I would create a password book.  (Inspired by my Dad and his book of expired passwords, not to helpful if you don't keep it up-to-date though! :)

I used PVA glue and a makeshift book press to glue my pages together.  I didn't quite get them all so I put a little glue on the edge of the page and stuck it back down.  Not 100% perfect but for my first glued book I am pretty happy with it.  I also discovered the Range Matte Medium.  I coated the cover, that I made out of 2 pieces of card stock, to make it a bit more durable.  Bonus the Matte Medium also gives the cover a bit of dampness protection.

What I did:

- printed out 10 pages of my website/password template (if you want a copy click the button below) on 8 1/2 * 11 paper, then cut it in half

-  I made the cover about 1/8 bigger to leave a little bit of overlap.  I used two pages and glued them together.  (I put a magnet in the front for my closure and glued a strip into the back pages for my flap, I also put a magnet in the flap

- I lined up my pages and cover and used a PVA glue (no wood glue!) along the pages to glue the spine together (3 coats, drying in between coats)

- clamped the book together to let it dry over night

- I added a spine with leftover cover paper, glue it on and clamped again and let it dry over night

- I used Multi Medium Matte to cover the back and front of the cover, and the flap closure.
